Whitetail Deer Hunts in New York State
Our whitetail deer hunts in New York State are unique in the fact that all the habitat in the preserve is natural, and the deer numbers are limited to keep the habitat that way. The Redwood Whitetail Hunting Preserve was started nine years ago on a 100 acre plus property through an extensive whitetail breeding program. All our deer are born on the preserve. We have been able to grow some of the biggest, typical, and non-typical whitetail deer in New York State.
The preserve has several large, stocked ponds and swamps. There are several enclosed heated hunting stands strategically placed near food plots or travel corridors. The preserve is mainly western New York terrain with a mature forest, giant red and white oak trees, apple trees, and lots of natural cover.
Our previous trophy whitetail hunters were amazed at the deer they had seen. So far, 90% of our hunters have booked for a second year. We have a limited number of hunts per season. When you hunt here at our preserve, you will have the entire place to yourself or whoever you bring with you.
Trophy Whitetail Deer Hunts
Our trophy whitetail deer hunts will start with a home-cooked breakfast, then out to your tree stand before daylight. You will be assisted by a guide at all times to help judge the size of the animal you wish to harvest. We do allow some of the returning hunters to hunt alone. You have the option to hunt all day, or you can take a midday break and grab some lunch, or you are welcome to take a packed lunch, which will be provided. We do not serve dinner, but there are several diners and restaurants close by.
Recommended Gear for a Whitetail Deer Hunt
Bring your usual gear for a whitetail deer hunt as well as a good pair of binoculars. Any weapons may be used on your hunt; guns, bows or muzzleloader, etc. We also have a gun and archery range available. No hunting license is required. Our stands are heated during cold season hunts. Our hunting season starts in late August if you choose to hunt a deer in velvet. Hunts can go as far as January if you prefer hunting in the snow.
Whitetail Deer Hunting Lodge
Our whitetail deer hunting lodge is completely new. We have two queen size beds, one twin bed, full bath, and full kitchen in rustic decor. We are usually limited to two hunters at a time, but we can accommodate larger groups. Call us for details.
Guided Whitetail Deer Hunts
During your guided whitetail deer hunt our hunting guides will assist you. They will help in tracking and recovering your trophy harvest. They will do the field dressing as well as bringing the animal out. You may take the whole animal home if you live in New York State. We will skin and quarter your trophy whitetail deer. Complete processing is available for an extra $125. We have a local processor who has been butchering game for over 20 years. Taxidermy is available on site by a full-time professional taxidermist with over 40 years of full-time experience. Your mount will be returned to you within a few months or less.
Trophy Whitetail Deer Hunt Packages
To book your trophy whitetail deer hunt package a $1000 nonrefundable deposit is required at the time of booking. You will be charged for your whitetail based on its antler score.
- Up to 150 inches, $4,000
- 151 inches through 160 inches is $4,500
- 161 inches through 170 inches is $5,000
- 171 inches through 180 inches is $5,500
- 181 inches through 190 inches is $6,000
- 191 inches through 200 inches is $7,000
- 200 inches plus is $8,000 plus $50 per inch over 200 inches.
